The Biosphere - Be an Insect for a Day
Enter "The Biosphere" and prepare to have your views on nature and biodiversity challenged - and get to see the world from an insect’s perspective in a brand new VR experience.
“The Biosphere – Be an Insect for a Day” is an interactive experience that aims to inspire children and adults to take better care of nature.
The biodiversity in Denmark is dwindling – and above all it is human activity and the lack of sufficient and protected space that’s the biggest challenge.
At the same time, we know less about nature in all its diversity than previous generations did. So, we are often not even aware of the species that go instinct and the habitats that are lost.
Enter “The Biosphere” and prepare to challenge all you think you know about nature and biodiversity and hopefully you’ll be inspired to help protect it!
VR – See the world from an insect’s perspective
Try the VR experience and explore the world from the perspective of butterflies and bees. Through interactive games, you’ll get an understanding of the interdependence of animals, plants, and humans.
How is nature doing in Denmark?
Get the ball rolling and complete the large tilting maze to test your knowledge about nature in Denmark. What is true and what is false?
What’s your view on nature?
What do you want nature to be? Do you want to use as much space as possible to produce food and materials? Do you think nature should be a place where we humans can enjoy life and relax in beautiful surroundings? Or do you want wild nature with room for biodiversity? Pick your priorities!
The biodiversity quiz
In the biodiversity quiz you will come face to face with some of the endangered Danish species that we may soon lose – if we do not do something right now!
The Danish forests
Enter a “forest” of real trees that have been felled to provide light to the forest floor. In most Danish forests, the trees block sun’s rays from reaching the forest floor. But by thinning out the trees, clearings appear where more of the forest’s species can thrive.
Explore biodiversity
Watch the films where researchers and experts explain biodiversity and the state of nature in Denmark right now. Or perhaps get your picture taken as a squirrel, a flower or a butterfly?
