On August 12th, a solar eclipse will be visible over Denmark. The eclipse will be partial, and at its peak, approximately 86–88% of the Sun’s disk will be covered by the Moon, depending on where in the country you are viewing it from.

From 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, you can visit the entire Experimentarium free of charge and experience the solar eclipse from the rooftop terrace. We will guide you through this spectacular natural event, and with our solar telescope, equipped with a special filter, you can safely follow the Sun’s gradual transformation up close.

An Evening Under the Sun

Turn the experience into a cosy summer evening. Skip the packed lunch and enjoy a Sunset sandwich with a drink for DKK 100 while you wait for the eclipse to unfold. You will also receive 20% off in the Experimentarium shop that evening, and we will hand out free solar eclipse glasses so you can experience the phenomenon safely.
