The Test Center consists of an arena and ten activities where you can test and train your personal rapidity, reactivity, mental strength and precision. Compete against one another – and become inspired by the Danish athletes’ personal stories about the everyday life as elite athletes and about their way to The Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Arena
Are you ready to try something new? The arena is a small multi-hall where you can compete against others in light football, you can try wheel chair basket or something entirely different. Through the year, a number of sport federations will pay a visit and demonstrate their own particular sport. Maybe this could be of interest to you?
Can you keep your balance?
Who can most successfully keep the balance on the balance board? When you are in balance, your body is in equilibrium and you have control of it. Your muscles, joints, brain and senses must interact perfectly together. However, it may be more difficult than you think!
Are you able to stay focused?
Do you possess the mental strength to reach your goals? It is in fact often the thoughts which decide who reaches the top of the podium. In this surprising mental training activity you become aware of your thoughts and feelings. Are you able to let go of them and change focus? If so, you already have a head start in the medal game!
Which route can you climb?
Bouldering is a new Olympic discipline which you are able to master if you are strong, lithe-bodied and you are able to make a good plan. Before you mount the Bouldering wall, you have to visualize your route at your inner glance and make your plan. Is your analysis according to your plan? Or are you able to adjust your plan on your way without falling down?
How fast can you run?
On your marks… Ready, set, go! A fast race demands a good start and a good start demands both training and a good technique. On the running track you can train and improve your start technique and of course compete with the others. Who gets off with the best start and the best time – and are you perhaps able to beat your personal record?
How precisely can you shoot?
In shooting, the smallest vibration may spoil everything. You have to concentrate and gain complete control over your body and your breathing in order to keep your aim and hit the nail on the head. Are you best with the pistol or the rifle?
Are you quick and do you possess an overview?
You have to be lightning quick and possess a good overview to return a ping-pong ball and outplay your opponent. Test and train your reactivity by pushing the ping-pong balls as fast as they lighten up on the wall. How many balls are you able to “return” before time runs out?
What is your pulse rate?
When you have just been doing sport, you probably feel your heart pounding in your chest. The harder you exert yourself, the harder your heart has to work in order to deliver nutritious blood and oxygen for your muscles. Put your hands patiently on the pulsimeter. Watch the blood pump out from the heart concurrently with your own heart pumping. Can you see the difference between recent running and relaxed condition?
How loud is your shout of victory?
A crazy shout of victory may generate extra energy and lots of fighting spirit – which is also the best way to celebrate the victory. Put your head into the Olympic torch and scream out your craziest shout of victory. Will this lead to a bronze, silver or gold medal?
